Photobiomodulation (PBM) or low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in dentistry is an evolving science, and a potential therapeutic modality for treating various oral diseases/conditions such as oral mucositis, recurrent herpes simplex infection, and burning mouth syndrome. The lack of adverse side effects is an advantage over conventional therapeutic modalities. PBM is a noninvasive and nondrug method which can play an influential role in the treatment of oral diseases.
