The study provides a comprehensive overview of the literature related to various evaluation models and frameworks (theoretical and conceptual) that could be applied to extension intervention programmes. These models and frameworks are capable of helping decision makers assess the impact of programmes and projects; and also determine the project’s performance based on the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of benefits. In order to help extension evaluators have better and deeper understandings of the application of the models and frameworks, the paper presents two samples of conceptual frameworks that will serve as guide or reference manual.
