This study briefly shows the various agriculture schemes in India as well as in Telangana. The objectives of this study is to know the implementation and objectives of various programmes in India. Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy which plays the most decisive role in the socioeconomic development of the country. The risk associated with agriculture sector in current scenario is increasing exponentially; emerging new crop diseases, pest, flood, drought, natural calamities, increasing input cost and decreasing market value have forced farmers to transfer the associated risk through means of insurance. Indian Government on closer insight about significance of agriculture and its contribution to economy have subsidized the insurance amount and indulged in promoting various schemes. various schemes introduced by state and central government of India for farmers to avail it benefits.
