Extension communication models and strategies play a vital role in agricultural extension by facilitating the effective dissemination of information, engaging stakeholders and promoting behaviour change. The effective dissemination of information, stakeholder engagement and behaviour change promotion are key objectives of these models and strategies. The Diffusion of Innovation model focuses on the adoption and spread of new ideas, technologies, or practices. The Participatory Communication approach emphasizes two-way communication and active stakeholder involvement. The Social Marketing strategy applies marketing principles to promote behaviour change. Community-Based Communication, Multi-Media Approaches, Farmer Field Schools, and Behaviour Change Communication are also discussed as important strategies in extension communication. The understanding and utilization of these models and strategies are crucial for extension professionals to reach their target audience, effectively convey messages, and facilitate positive changes in agricultural practices.
