Abstract

This study aimed to identify the key profile characteristics influencing the gain in knowledge of televiewing farmers of Andhra Pradesh. The data was collected from 240 televiewing farmers randomly selected across four districts of Andhra Pradesh. The data was analysed using pearsons’ correlation co-efficient and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that the profile characteristics viz, education, farming experience, socio-economic status, innovativeness, mass media exposure, marketing orientation, risk orientation, economic orientation, scientific orientation, extension contact, social participation, cropping intensity and training exposure significantly influencing the gain in knowledge of televiewing farmers. Whereas the characteristics like age, farm size and annual income not showing any influence on gain in knowledge. The study highlights the importance of considering these factors in agricultural extension programmes and policies aimed at promoting the adoption of innovative farming practices. The findings have implications for improving agricultural productivity, sustainability, and rural livelihoods in India.
