To meet the demand for varied horticultural products, there is an urgent need to adopt various biotechnological strategies. The chapter provides a comprehensive review on the application of various tissue culture techniques exploited in horticulture. The review includes various tissue culture techniques such as micropropagation, embryo culture, somatic embryogenesis, somaclonal variations, mutation breeding, synthetic seeds and cryopreservation utilised by horticulture industries for improvement of various superior traits in fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants.
