Abstract

Fresh water fish, Rasbora daniconius was exposed to low frequency electromagnetic field (LF-EMF) for 8, 15 and 30 days to estimate the protein content in vital organs. In the present study, it was found that, the significant decline (P<0> Ovary> Liver> Kidney= Testis> Intestine> Gills viz. 25.799> 9.601> 7.862> 4.963= 4.963> 2.643> 1.6774 mg/100mg wet tissue weight; for 15 days exposure it was Muscles> Ovary> Liver> Kidney> Intestine> Testis> Gills viz. 10.374> 5.061> 4.769> 2.643> 1.71> 1.29> 0.9326 mg/100mg wet tissue weight and for 30 days the protein content was Muscles> Ovary> Liver> Kidney> Intestine> Testis> Gills viz. 9.777> 5.974> 4.179> 1.011> 0.991> 0.928> 0.5684 mg/100mg wet tissue weight. Since, the LF-EMF exposure affects protein metabolism in different tissues of Rasbora daniconius.
