Abstract

After mango, banana is second most popular fruit crop. Because of its flavour, nutritive, and medicinal value, it's available all year. It is a favorite’s fruit of individuals of all social groups. It is high in carbohydrate and vitamins, particularly B-complex vitamin. Bananas will help to lower the danger of heart condition. It's also recommended for people with asthma, high vital sign, ulcers, gastroenteritis, and kidney problems. Bananas are wont to make a spread of things, including chips, banana puree, jam, jelly, juice, and more. Packs, pans, and wall hangers are all made up of banana fiber. Banana waste are often wont to make rope and high-quality paper. Bananas are India's commonest fruit crop, ranking first in terms of production and third in terms of region. Maharashtra has the highest productivity in India. Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Assam are the opposite major banana-producing states. Banana has attained a commercial importance in many country of tropical world. Banana plant refers to biblical legend “tree of wisdom” permanently and evil within the Garden of Eden. In ancient India, the plant was considered secured as could provide shade and food. The word Musa was derived from the Arabic term Mouz which probably came from Sanskrit word Moka and got its place in Koran as the “tree of paradise” similar to that of “Tree of wisdom” in Bible. Frequent mention is made of banana in the Indian epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata. Anyhow the primitive men made a diverse use of the fruit plant. It is also interesting that the fruit has established as commercial proposition in the countries far away from its center of origin. There is little doubt that banana was one among the primary fruit plants that was cultivated.
