Jack tree is a multi-purpose tree and it is known as second kalpavriksha. It yields an edible summer fruits, has nutritional and pharmacological importance, as its whole parts are valuable. It is the most ancient fruits indigenous to Western Ghats of India. Jackfruit is rich in bioactive compounds, which show numerous health benefits widely used in traditional medicine due to its anti-carcinogenic, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, wound healing, and hypoglycemic effects. The present study aims to disseminate the knowledge of jackfruit's nutritional and health benefits to promote jackfruit utilization for commercial-scale food production.
