Abstract

In the first paced world where we live, we tend to look forward to and think of welcoming positive and new changes in our jobs. With the change in job it may mean a change for a better work place or a hike in the salary or it may mean change in job status. In this article I have tried to capture just the opposite and that is nothing but the human fear of losing his job. Many studies shows that the fear arises in the mind of a person due to various reasons like lack of knowledge, non-conformance with performance targets, personal shortcomings which may be due to lack of higher degrees, language barriers or cross-cultural limitations etc. The loss of job during the hard times and lockdowns is totally for different reasons and the employers cannot do anything but to shut their units. People are laid off or retrenched from their jobs. During this process rises the human fear of losing one’s job even-if there is no shortcomings of the employees or any disagreements with the employer either. I have also linked this human fear psychosis of losing their job with the positive thinking of being ‘Self Reliant’ which will boost their craftsmanship, creativity, skills less utilized in the micro level and increase visibility, bring personal awareness and fulfill dreams of every person in the macro level. In conclusion I can say in the Indian context under the present hard times of ‘Pandemic’ we can surely walk small steps towards an ‘AtmaNirbhar’ India successfully and leave the fear behind.
