Climate is the major factor which affect the crop production on very large scale. Global as well as Indian agriculture is chiefly dependent on the crop production behaviour and pattern of climatic variability. Changes in the pattern of weather or climatic variables can affect the production of major cereal crops like rice and wheat, which is causing threat to the nutrition security. The IPCC has examined the published results from many different models and on the basis of the evidence has estimated that by 2100. The global average surface warming (surface air temperature change) will increase by 1.1 - 6.4 °C. In this fast-changing scenario of changing climate to secure the agricultural production, farmers need to be sensitized on climate variability, climate change, its impact on crop production, and coping options.
