Traditional breeding techniques are old age and time consuming which will not meet the food demand of future population. Applications of molecular breeding tool and biotechnological tools speed up the breeding process for faster utilization heterosis for the production of hybrid varieties which has more yield potential over the traditional varieties. Techniques like Barnase-Barstar system, genome editing and RNAi are very useful, effective and efficient method for development of male sterility to use as female parent for hybrid development.
