Remote sensing is the science (and, to a lesser degree, the art) of obtaining information about the Earth's surface without physically touching it. This is accomplished by the detection and recording of reflected or emitted energy, as well as the processing, analysis, and application of that data." The method is characterised by an interaction between incident radiation and the desired targets. For operating and extraction of information Data analysis is required. Human error is one of the most major disadvantages of manual data collecting. When relying on a person to transfer data correctly from one location to another, errors are to be expected. An automated system guarantees that always has the information it requires in the most up-to-date, accurate format possible. As a result, these issues associated with human data collection may be addressed using Remote Sensing methods. For checking the authenticity of data there is one techniques that is called as Ground Truth Data. The complexity of Earth's surface characteristics, the influence of the atmosphere and the indistinctness of spectral fingerprints all operate as limiting factors for remote sensing without ground truth data. Ground truth data collection complements the synoptic overview provided by satellites by enabling the image data to be contextualised within the context of existing Earth surface features on the ground. Thus, ground truth is critical when it comes to picture interpretation. It is a phenomenon that has numerous applications including photography, surveying, geology, forestry and many more. But it is in the field of agriculture that remote sensing has found significant use. Although, this techniques require expensive equipment and management skills but once a farmer rely upon these technology, can efficiently manage their farm resources on the basis of needs. Along with this there is a need to do extension services activities like field demonstration, method demonstration and training program at village level as in order to alleviate the standard of living of small and marginal farmers especially. The advantages and positive outcomes of Remote Technology in terms of input minimization and location specific strategy of management of agricultural lands gives a tremendous opportunity to farmers under present situations. Hence, it can be said that remote sensing a resource conservation technology (RCTs) under present scenario to achieve sustainability.
