India is primarily an agrarian economy. Agriculture remains the chief source of income for the majority of the rural households. India’s economy is also heavily dependent on the agricultural produce that constitutes one of the major portion of its exports as well. Today in technological world, technology can improve the productivity and efficiency work in agricultural sector. In these technologies, Artificial intelligence, machine learning, remote sensing, forecasting is growing fields and play an important role in agricultural development. Among them, Drone is one of the best techniques and has potential to play a significant role to help on farm as well as off farm management in Indian agriculture. Industry-leading drones allow to access a detailed view of land and crops that cannot be seen by the naked eye, enabling to enjoy better crop health and greater productivity. Now a day, Drone is familiar to everyone but in agricultural sector there is some lack of knowledge, lack of budget, technology etc. Cost and maintenance of drone is also quite high. In this section we will discuss the current status of drones in Indian agricultural sector and also see the different agricultural drone company that are working in drone development. And also study those reason due to which this technology not accepted by Indian farmer confidently. In current, application of drone in Indian agricultural sector is minimum but in future after some improvement in technologies it became a huge application sector in agriculture.
