Abstract

Vermicompost is type of organic manure that contains higher amount of available plant nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, enzymes and some Agricultural important microorganisms. For degradation purpose mainly three species of earthworm are used which is Eisenia fetida, Eudrilids eugenia and perionyx excavates. The waste material includes Agricultural farm waste, cow dung, waste from paper industries and domestic waste. This waste contains more carbon and low nitrogen so mixed with cow dung and make more suitable feed for Earthworm. Entire process of vermicomposting takes around 60 to 90 days. The nutrient parameters are analysed during this period. Vermicompost improve the physiochemical properties of soil.
