Abstract

The initial reaction between alcohols and phosphoric acid produces compounds known as organophosphorus (OP). For a number of decades, crop protection and pest management in agriculture have made extensive use of OP chemicals. In a nation where agriculture is the foundation of the economy, organophosphorus poisoning is a prevalent issue. India is a mostly agrarian nation with 60 to 80 percent of its citizens living in rural areas. Modern farming commonly makes use of pesticides. Therefore, a pesticide is a convenient source for suicidal thoughts, especially following unimportant family disputes. In spite of the fact that pesticide poisoning claims the lives of hundreds of people every year, poisoning is rarely given priority in India's health studies. Despite significant improvements in critical care, OP poisoning frequently manifests as medical emergencies, and its associated morbidity and mortality have not diminished.
