Insects are highly diversified and adopted to all kind of ecology in the world. There are many factors viz. adaptation to wide range of climatic factors, their morphological along with behavioral changes, selection of habitat, food, mate and their inter-specific and intraspecific communications caused them to be a successful organism. Communication between individuals is paramount to find food, avoid predators, resolve conflicts and selecting mates. Communication signals consist of chemical, visual, mechanical, electrical, or auditory cues etc. Among the various processes’ communication plays an important role in selection of mate which is most crucial and significant process. Selection of mate at distance is done by chemical and auditory cues. The chemical process is safe for the individuals as it is safe for both partners and also it is highly species specific. In return it also ensures perfect mate choice in insects. The auditory cues for mate selection also called courtship song/ calling song. The intended receivers of courtship songs must extract information about sender species, sex and quality and then respond accordingly. The accurate recognition of courtship song is much essential because the unintended receivers may also use these signals to drive predation, parasitism, or aggression.
