On the earth about 250,000 plants species occur and more than 80,000 has been used for medicinal purposes, the about 5,000 plant species have been specific in therapeutic use. In the world about 219 plants form the 83 families has been used as antiviral activity. In which 149 plants of 71 families has been screened for identification of secondary metabolites be effective in pandemic. About 2,000 species have been identified with high potential medicinal value. The World Health Organization reveals that a huge number of the rural area population still relies on traditional treatment of herbal plants for their physical and psychological treatment needs. The India has with its diverse agro climatic conditions and regional topography, has been considered as the treasure house or botanical garden of plant genetic resources. It is recognized as one of the world’s top 12 mega diversity nations. The Indian herbal wealth constitutes more than 8,000 species and accounts for around 50% of all higher flowering plant species of India. In the India around 70% of the medicinal plants in the country are spread across the tropical forests of Western Ghats. In the country about 1,800 species are used in classical Indian systems of medicines. The Indian system Ayurveda has uses 1,200; the system Siddha has used 900, in the Unani system700 plants are used, in the Amchi system 600 plants are used and in the Tibetan system 450 plants are used for the medicine purposes. The herbs used as a source of food, medicine, fragrance, flavor, dyes and other items in the Indian systems of medicine is in increasing trend. In all of system one of most important plant used in all system of medicine has Azadirachta indica, it is commonly known as neem in India.
