Textiles and apparels are important part of our culture. The collection includes designer clothes and a wide range of artifacts, including tapestries, carpets, quilts, curtains, etc. from different continents. For the future generation, textile and apparel collections have placed in textile museums. Various type of textiles collection has been deteriorating due to the environmental factor such as light, temperature, relative humidity, moth, dust, dirt, etc. Thus repair and maintenance is an important step to preserve the textiles and apparels in museums from future damage. For example, to close the broken seams and provide support to weakened or loosened areas of fabric, needle and thread have used. Some fabrics are very fragile and delicate which is not possible to repair with the aid of needle and thread. In these cases, an adhesive technique is the possible solution to repair the textiles and apparels. The control of environmental conditions, proper display techniques and proper storage are important factors to maintain the textile from deterioration. Textile conservators have also used the stabilization techniques to maintain or preserve the textiles from decay.
