Immunization has played an important role in shaping a country’s future in terms of child’s health. Little has been known about immunization programs in underdeveloped and developing countries! Immunization is an unbiased public health tool that has helped to undoubtfully reduce the occurrence of many life-threatening diseases, such as measles, polio, and tetanus, and which has led to the elimination of smallpox. Zero-dose Children are those who have failed to receive any immunization scheduled vaccination. Implementing these zero-dose children’s vaccination led to a large-scale implication on the health care and immunization schedule. Zero-dose serves as a “priming dose” which is administered at birth to the baby for vaccines such as OPV (oral polio vaccine), DPT (diphtheria pertussis tetanus), etc. It fails to induce protective levels of antibody and memory B cells which is beneficial against life-threatening diseases. Developing countries such as India are focussing more on this zero-dose issue than before and trying to eliminate them with more boost in the immunization schedule.
