Food labeling is the essential means of communication between the manufacturer and the dealer, on one hand and the buyer and customer on the other. Label provides an essential information about the item. The label should incorporate name of food, list of ingredients, weight or volume of item, date and storage condition, place of origin, part or batch number. Additional data may likewise be included like cooking instructions or serving idea. Labeling should be clear, simple, accurate, readable, informative and consistent.
