Swasthya Rakshan Programme aims to protect and promote health of population in large which requires intersectoral and interdisciplinary approaches. These commitments requires the re-orientation of health and social care services that support the promotion of health and the development of the skills and capacity of those outside the Health Promotion workforce to adopt a stronger evidence-based health promoting role. To address these issues and to identify factors related to diseases arising from unhygienic conditions and focusing on personal, domestic and environmental hygiene, the Council has initiated Swasthya Rakshan Programme-a step linking with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan started by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 2nd October 2014.
