Abstract

The integration of SDN within the conventional 6LoWPAN based IoT framework keeping the traditional 6LoWPAN based IoT architecture intact. The proposed SD-6LN architecture was developed on it line. It integrates the SDN functionalities within the existing IoT system as an add-on device. The utilization of the SDN approach within the existing IoT system without maneuvering any of its devices was found to significantly improve in network performance. The proposed SD-6LN architecture systems were experimented during a testbed. The performance was measured in terms of average RTT, packet loss, latency, and throughput. It absolutely was observed that the proposed SD-6LN systems can enhance network performance in comparison to the standard 6LoW- PAN and CCS. It’s also warrant being mention here that the performance of MSD- 6LN is healthier than that of SSD-6LN architecture system thanks to the incorporation of multiple numbers of SDN controllers in MSD-6LN architecture. This method are going to be pretty much acceptable by the industry who are using conventional IoT system. Just by incorporating an SDN controller system within the existing IoT infrastructure, lots of performance improvement are often achieved.
