Abstract

Criminal Profiling has been defined as the practice of inferring personality behavioural and demographic characteristics of criminal based on crime scene evidence. While the definition of Criminal Profiling may seem to be an interesting and exciting as well as logical enough process to follow. However, there are some complex integrities’ that are involved when a Criminal Profiler undertakes the job of creating a Behavioural Profile of the offender who may have been involved in the commission of a particular crime. The purpose of the chapter is to encapsulate the multitude of processes and information that would be necessary to have a theoretical framework for budding forensic psychologists to undertake the very daunting task of framing a profile in any criminal investigation. However, the information provided within isn’t an end to all; but should be considered a foundation for further research in this field.
