Throughout human history, there has been a persistent conviction that good things can come from adversity or suffering. This idea is conceptualised by Post Traumatic Growth model. Post-traumatic growth is the intense experience that follows catastrophic events that stimulates survivors to "grow" beyond their pre-trauma level of psychological functioning. This chapter's objective is to shift our attention from a pessimistic viewpoint to a constructive, growth-oriented mindset by using the post-traumatic growth model to analyse the traumatic event. The current chapter provides a deeper knowledge of the concept by going over its components, recently revised model, assessment, and clinical implications in the contemporary setting.
