Abstract

Emerging challenges like ever increasing population, urbanisation, scarcity of resources, globalisation, liberalisation and climate change in the agriculture dependent countries like India demands highly productive (effective and efficient) scientific personals to bring continuous growth and development in agriculture to improve the socio-economic condition of farmers and meet food security of the country. Therefore Research Productivity of the Agricultural Scientist is a yardstick for advancement, innovation and development in the agriculture sector. In this context understanding of the research productivity and its determinants for further refinement is a crucial research area of investigation of academic interest. But well before that it is quintessential to know the existing constraints to achieve desirable Research Productivity by Agricultural Scientist and strategies adopted by the various institutions/countries to improve the performance of scientists/academicians.
