India is an agriculturally dominated country or it will not be wrong to say that India lives in villages. India is a young country and rural youth constitutes about 41% of total population of India. Government of India has started many programmes like ARYA, STRY, ACABC, PMKVY, ASCI, SKILL INDIA, NYK to provide employment opportunities to them. ARYA Programme was started to attract youth in Agriculture, ACABC is started to provide opportunities for agricultural graduates to setup startups. STRY programme is started to provide skill-based training to rural youth. With proper public investments in agriculture, sustained effort on regulatory and policy reform and ample attention to ensure inclusion of young people in India’s agricultural renaissance, the handsome youth dividend of the country can wisely be utilized for development of the nation.
