Edible landscaping is an innovative approach that integrates food-producing plants into aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces, such as gardens, parks, and urban settings. With increasing urban sprawl and decreasing agricultural land all around the world an initiative by government and local people is necessary to build healthy and prosperous community. The demand for organic, fresh and chemical free fruits and vegetables is a right of every individual. The incorporation of edible plants such as fruits, vegetables, medicinal and edible flowers in beautifully decorated aesthetic backyards, parks, gardens or rooftops provide a sense of belonging, improve the mindset and reduce the carbon footprint of the people. The concept of edible landscaping not only improves the nature but nurtures it by feeding many food chains. Therefore, this approach is necessary step towards changing climatic conditions, changing dynamics of nuclear families and increase in urbanization.
