Abstract

The field of positive psychology has gained momentum since its inception in India but, many variables still require in-depth comparative studies to develop an effective mental health delivery system. While resilience is a strong protective factor, the desirability of control is linked with aspiration, hostility, and verbal aggression. The current study reveals how both variables vary among first-year and final-year female undergraduates of a 3-year Bachelor’s course. A sample of one hundred seventeen first-year and one hundred nineteen final-year undergraduate female students (N=236), aged between eighteen to twenty-two (Mean age= 19.1992, SD= 1.0265) from Noida, India, was taken for this research. Results indicated no significant difference in the resilience and the desirability of control between the first and final year students. The finding supports the possibility of using similar interventions for both groups. Essential future directions are also discussed.
