Sugarcane is a key contributor to worldwide sugar production, accounting for more than 70% of global saccharine requirements. It has been cultivated as a sugar source since prehistoric times. Furthermore, it has a high potential for application in the production of bioethanol and has been planted as an energy crop in several countries. Brazil is the largest consumer of sugarcane biofuel, followed by the United States, which uses biofuel to meet 50% of their energy demands. The power over 5.0 million autos with hydrous ethanol with an ethanol concentration of 95.5%. These statistics motivate us to work toward improving the sugarcane crop so that world energy needs can be met in a sustainable manner.
